GLASGOW Prof James Stevens Curl: The Egyptian Revival in Architecture

Preeminent author and architectural historian Professor James Stevens Curl joins The Alexander Thomson Society and Egyptology Scotland to deliver the 2019 Gavin Stamp Lecture.

Professor Curl will deliver a talk on two millennia of the Egyptian Revival in architecture, discussing everything from the adoption of Egyptianised elements in Graeco-Roman architecture through to the 'individual contribution of Alexander Thomson'. The talk draws on the research presented by Prof Curl in his seminal book, The Egyptian Revival.
